I am working on a new base board schematics that will host RPi CM4. I am considering eMMC boot option.
I have looked at the documents and found the procedure to boot the RPi CM4 through eMMC memory. The steps are mentioned below.
1- Connect a jumper between n_RPIBOOT (98) and GND. This will disable the eMMC boot.
2- Connect a USB cable between PC and the base board hosting RPi CM4.
3- Launch the RPi Imager. The eMMC memory will appear as storage drive in My Computer.
4- Configure and load the RPi OS image on the eMMC memory.
5- Remove the jumper and reboot.
In the schematics I am thinking to do the following.
1- Add a micro USB connector on the base board schematics
2- Route the differential pair USB2_N (103) and USB_P(105) to the D- and D+ of micro USB connector
3- Connect the ground pin of micro USB connector to the ground of base board hosting RPi CM4
4- Leave the 4th pin (V+ power pin) of the micro USB connector un-connected
Kindly let me know if I am missing anything. Thanks in advance.
