Hello,
I know there's a lot of posts and questions about this issue, but I feel like I tried most of them without succes. So I hope somebody here might be able to point me in the right direction.
A long time ago I bought a Raspberry Pi 3 model B quick starter kit. Only I didn't really have the time or a project for it just yet, until recently.
When i opened the package, I noticed that there was just an american-stly power plug in there which I can't use.
So I decided to connect it directly to an usb-port of my PC. Which was a bad idea, as the installer kept hanging and afterwards didn't do anything anymore.
I found out what I did wrong, loaned a SD-card reader and reinstalled with the newst 64 bit version available from the mac installer.
After all the installing and setting-up, I tried to start some apps and noticed the low voltage warning. I tried several other power plugs I had laying around the house, but none would make it disappear. Not even the ones rated for 2.5A.
I thought maybe the OS would be too much for this device, so I reinstalled with the 32-bits version. This seemed to get the mesage less often for a while, but it still happened sometimes.
When searching through the menus I saw there was a system check like app that checked only for the SD-card. So I checked that and it said the write-speed of the SD-card that came in the package wasn't good enough.
So I went out yesterday and bought both a new SD-card and a power plug rated for 5V/3A. I installed the older 32 bits version, to make it even lighter on the device. But I still get the notification about low voltage.
I'm kind of at loss here what else I can do, I've been using the offical power cable with the on/off switch that came with it and feels pretty rigid. So I assume that one's ok, or do I need to replace that too?
Let me know if you have any other questions.
