Raspberry Pi OS • Alsa not working on Raspberry Pi OS Lite

Hello,

I have a problem with Alsa where I can't get it to play audio. I have a freshly burned image of the 32-bit Lite version OS. I only selected the default hdmi-0 audio output in raspi-config. Then when running speaker test it gives the following error:

Sample format not available for playback: Invalid argument

When I try to play a wav with aplay, it give me the error:

set_params: 1352: Sample format non available

And finally, if I install mpg123 package and run an mp3 file, i get this:

error in decoding next frame: Unable to set up output format! (code 1)

The strange thing is that in the Full Raspberry Pi OS image everything works fine.

So, what is the diffence in Alsa between both versions of the OS?

I appreciate your help with this.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I use a Rpi CM4 with its IO Board
