Troubleshooting • Pi5 will not connect to wifi

Hello everyone!

I’ve search this forum, and other sites as well, for a solution to my problem. Unfortunately, I’ve come up with no solution. Also, I’m a novice when it comes to these devices so please be patient.

I have a Pi5 that I’m trying to get to connect to WiFi, but it’s not working. I’m running the Lite version of 64bit Bookworm.

In the setup, which I’ve done 5 times so far, I’ve tried both my 2.4ghz and 5ghz connections. Yes, the SSID and passwords are correct. My router is an ASUS AX11000, so should be plenty powerful sitting 5 feet from the Pi. I’m not running the router in 802.11 ax mode nor does the 5ghz band have the 160mhz band enabled. WPA2 encryption.

The Pi does have the heatsink, which I read could cause interference, but removing it showed no changes. I also tried moving away from the router in case I was too close.

I’m using the Pi for an Allsky camera, so I hooked it up via LAN and configured the WiFi in the website the software generates, but that too did not work.

It seems I’m not alone in having issues from the searches I’ve done, but I’ve not found a solution.
