I would like to set a VNC resolution of 800 x 480 on one Raspberry Pi to be received by a second Pi fitted with the official 7" touchscreen.
First Pi: Pi 4B 2G with a fresh install of Bookworm. This is installed in a robot.
Second Pi: Pi 3B currently running Buster, portable, powered by battery and fitted with the official 7" DSI screen.
The 3B is connected by VNC to the 4B and various data and images are displayed on the screen as the robot trundles about.
Previously the 4B was running Bullseye and I forced a VNC resolution of 800 x 480 by setting the frame buffer size in config.txt. However this does not seem possible in Bookworm, config.txt has moved and its contents are sparse.
Is there an easy way to get the 4B to have a 800 x 400 desktop that can be sent by VNC to the 3B?
As the screen is a Raspberry Pi product I am surprised to find that the 800 x 480 resolution is not one the choices in Preferences.
