Interfacing (DSI, CSI, I2C, etc.) • Trying to reverse engineer DSI display from china headunit

Hi,
I am trying to use a rpi5 to drive a dsi display from a chinese universal android auto headunit thingy. The display is marked KA264S4618-T08-10-V0 which doesn't seem to exist anywhere on the internet.
From a firmware dump I think I got the initialization sequence but I don't know what driver ic it uses...
In the firmware dump I found the init sequence after I searched "he0801a068" since this name appeared at one point during boot log (something about disp init). The reported version of headunit indicates a JD9365DA (hz-ob-jd9365da-a-fm) and I tried to use the panel driver for that modified with my init sequence and a assumed pinout based on other 600x1600 displays and what I could measure on the original mobo but that went nowhere sadly.
It's pretty clear I am in over my head but as a last ditch effort I am writing here to see if anyone has any suggestions/ideas for what I should try/look for next.
