Troubleshooting • Any time I try to upgrade or install anything I get Error 1

I've been trying to set up NGINX but before I even went to install it I tried to upgrade everything and it gave me the error "E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)". I've gone through ten - twenty posts and still nothing works.
