I've got a project that needs indoor, day/night, motion detection monitoring of an object about 1m away. Stills and/or video of 1080p quality. I'm somewhat torn on getting a camera module that has on board IR illuminators (to make things easy), or get a 'standard' RPI NOIR camera and have separate illumination since there appears to be power and heat aspects to factor in.
Can anyone make a suggestion on what camera/illumination choices and physical configurations seem to work well for people?
