I am currently using a Raspberry Pi 5 with the official 27W USB-C Power Supply (Model: 27W USB-C Power Supply EU). However, the Pi does not power on at all when using this power adapter — not even the red power LED turns on.
To troubleshoot, I have tested the following:
The Pi works perfectly when powered using an iPad USB-C charger (5V/3A).
I verified that the official power supply works by using it with a USB-C tablet (it charges fine).
I removed all peripherals and tested with only power and HDMI connected.
I cleaned the USB-C port and checked the board for damage (none visible).
I performed a full firmware and EEPROM update while the Pi was running on the alternate power supply.
I reinstalled the SDCard with the Raspberry Pi Imager
Even after a successful OS installation and reboot, the official 27W adapter still does not power the Pi.
It seems the Pi does not initiate or complete USB-C Power Delivery negotiation with this power supply, although it should. Could this be a hardware defect or an incompatibility issue?
Pls send HELP![Very Happy :D]()
