I'm running a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.2
CPU op-mode(s): 32-bit, 64-bit
with: Debian Linux 6.1.77-v8+CUSTOM-KERNEL
The kernel I custom compiled myself to introduce a new driver for an additional USB WiFi antenna.
However the problem I am experiencing existed before I compiled the custom kernel.
The problem is the same regardless of which WiFi interface I use, the internal WiFi chip or the additional external USB WiFi.
The problem still exists even if I remove the external USB WiFi chip and just use the internal WiFi as a hotspot
I've been using the default BookWorm 12 GUI, and configuring the WiFI interfaces using the NetworkManager GUI application.
I've managed to setup WiFi hotspots with 'bullseye' many many times.
I have even had it running okay on 'bookworm' at some point a few months ago.
But now, when I setup a WiFi hotspot via the NetworkManager Desktop GUI application.
I can see and even authenticate to the hosts WiFi SSID from a remote client machine, however the client machine is not pulling an IP
At least not a an IP4, it does seem to get an IP6, even though the host has been configured not to give out IP6 addresses.
It's almost like the DHCP factor of the host machine is not giving out IP4 addresses.
The IP6 address still does not allow me to communicate with the host machine from the client.
What can this be?
