Troubleshooting • Flash Procedure with WSL2 (BelayBox)

Hello, I am struggling to flash a CM4 with bespoke IO board. I have been using Linux and RPi for about...nine days so far, so please forgive my ignorance. This is a component of an open-source EV charger.
The guide I am following: https://everest.github.io/nightly/hardw ... -yak-board
The image I need to use: https://pionix-update.de/belaybox-basec ... 86.wic.bz2
Misc. Git: https://github.com/PionixPublic/reference-hardware
Misc. Git II: https://github.com/PionixPublic/yeti-yak-sdk

I am using Win11 WSL2 with Ubuntu 24.04. I have the CM4 IO board connected to my PC via USB. The IO board does not have an SD card slot.

I struggled to get the board to appear in Device Manager at all. The fault was an underrated PSU; replaced with a 12VDC/60W and was able to see it as an "Other Device." Thereafter, I installed RNDIS driver; this made the device appear as a proper USB storage device [viewtopic.php?t=195201]

I was trying to use USBIPD in PS to connect the USB device to WSL. I have not found it as a device in /dev/Sdx. I have, however, found it as a USB device. In spite of successfully binding and attaching it as "BCM2711 Boot" and as "USB Mass Storage Device/USB Serial Device COM4" but no success. I looked into mounting the device as a drive (not sure if that makes sense) but got nowhere.

I also tried to use the Win11 RPi imager, and am able to set it back to bootloader, and see it as a USB drive in Win11.
I also tried to use 7zip to extract the image file, but it crashes 7zip.

My most recent attempt was to use rpiboot in Windows, but still unable to reach the point of accessing the storage in CLI. Also tried running the mass-storage-gadget-cm4/5 executable but to no avail.

Tangential, but after executing rpiboot the green led sometimes flickers with a very weak glow. Sometimes it is a strong, solid light. Not sure what that means. Aluminum heat sinks on the CM4 are warm to the touch.
