General discussion • New life to old computer

Hi,
I'm trying to bring an old Toshiba laptop back to life with Raspbian OS.

I'm currently using a Raspberry Pi 5.
So, I discovered Imager.
Now if I'm correct, this will create a bootable disk for me which I can then install onto the laptop?

I let Imager do its stuff (32 bit option)and everything appeared to work just fine.
I then placed the USB into the laptop's USB slot. I changed the boot order so that the laptop would boot from the USB drive......but it won't do that.

Do I need to download a desktop version of Raspbian?
If so, what software do I use to create the bootable image?

Phil
