Background:
In one end of my 20 m long home the Internet fiber enters into my study and there the main ASUS router is located.
This handles the DHCP connections for the network.
In the other end of the home is another ASUS router connected to the main router with ethernet cable and configured as an Access Point.
Both the main router and AP are WiFi hosts using the same ssid/password.
Problem:
I have an RPi Zero W running bullseye, which I have used to monitor temperatures using a DS18B20 sensor.
It is located in the same room as the Access Point and is working well there.
Now I wanted to add another function to the RPi Zero and in order to configure that I moved it to the study and switched it on.
It looks normal by the lights on the board but it does not connect WiFi!
I have tried several power cycles etc but to no avail, no connection.
If I move it back to the AP room then it connects just fine!
I can connect by SSH and administrate it no problem.
What is going on here?
Is there some setting that forces the RPi Zero to connect to the same physical AP as before when it starts up?
That is obviously not in range in the study.
There is only one network listed in /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf and that is the correct one.
I thought that it would connect to the strongest server with the correct SSID and password, but that is obviously not happening.
What can I do to solve this problem?
