So I've been trying to set up pi-hole on my raspberry pi 4. The purpose being the benefits of adblocking and as an educational project.
I've run into the following roadblock. I live in an apartment complex and the ISP has set up the router so that it can not be accessed.
Following the guide/s I set up a static ip address for the raspberry pi. I intended or read that it is possible to configure my devices manually to use the pi as it's dns service. While going through the installation script for pi-hole it informed me of the need of a static ip address, which is the only reason I set that up.
What are my options here. I'm not trying to do anything illegal. I'd just like the benefit of ad blocking for my devices where it is impossible to install an adblocker natively.
