Troubleshooting • Pi 3b+ using Pi 7" display brightness control not working

Pi3b+, Pi 7" display new freshly loaded 32bit OS.
"echo n > /sys/class/backlight/rpi_backlight/brightness" command no longer controls the brightness of the display.
What has changed in the newer OS?
Please do not respond if you don't know the solution/fix?
