Troubleshooting • RPi cannot see Xfinity wifi

I've just changed to Xfinity as my ISP. I didn't have this problem with Centurylink.
Wifi doesn't seem to be able to connect on boot - or from the command line. Nor does it connect using raspi-config with new RPis (mostly ZeroWs, though also a 2B and a Zero2W). When I try listing the available SSIDs (nmcli d wifi list ifname wlan0), the RPis don't find my wifi system. I can see other wifi networks from nearly houses, but not mine. Using the same command from my Debian laptop shows my local Xfinity wifi with good signal strength, and on channel 6 (iwlist channel shows the Zero looking at channels 1-11).

Occasionally I can get a connection if the RPi is running and the Xfinity gateway/router is rebooted. This doesn't always work. However I have one older ZeroW running bullseye - it always seems to connect on rebooting the Xfinity gateway/router. The problematic RPi devices are running bookworm.

I've also attempted to clue in the Xfinity system though its "Admin Tool", giving it the MAC address and static IP, to no avail.

I'd appreciate any insights - TIA!
